Corina Marion has a father problem—namely that her Red Cross doctor of a dad has finally returned home from sixteen years of war...
...as a body in a box to be buried.
Her mother is devastated, her friends shocked and saddened, her hometown in mourning at the loss of its local hero. And Corina is trapped in the middle of an emotional onslaught she isn't prepared to handle.
But when a strange old man confronts Corina at her father's funeral, he offers her an impossible opportunity: the chance to know the late Luther Marion. And in a moment of uncertainty, Corina makes a choice with consequences she can barely fathom.
A choice that sends her twenty-five years into the past.
Right on the cusp of the harrowing events that will shape Luther Marion's life...and death.
And in order to return to her damaged home, supportive friends, and uncertain future, Corina will have to fight tooth and nail alongside the man she's resented her entire life. Because if she doesn't help fix the past she's inadvertently changed with her presence, Luther Marion may not live long enough to become a hero at all.

I really appreciated this book, it isn't particularly my favourite and I would not recommend it on a daily basis but it was agreeable. It was a quick read and wasn't as impactful as any other book I have read. It is kind of like a Wattpad book. It is quick and not something I will remember in the future.
I liked the relationship the book demonstrated. This angry daughter that gets to see her father's character for the first time. The book was hard to get into however. The blurb really sold it off, how could you not read it! Nonetheless, I was really confused at what was happening in this book. Just the fact that an old man came out of nowhere and told her that she was going back in time to see her dead father that, may I add, she kind of hates or the worst part is her telling him he is going to die? Isn't the rule of time traveling not to tell anything that might affect someone or something?
The book's ending was really nice. (okay, I know that it is weird for me to sat that the ending was my favourite part, is it because I got to finally finish a book I had no idea what was going on or is it because I actually enjoyed it? No one will know!) The ending nearly left me in tears. It was that good. I knew what was going to happen at the end, as any time traveling book.
Another part I was really confused about is the cover. Why is it so nice? And why is it in water? To be honest, at first glance it seemed to be a story around aquatic creatures, but I was pleased to know it wasn't (who am I kidding I want mermaids!). I am not going to lie and say that the cover wasn't the thing that made me want to read the book in the first place. Gosh, I will never do that!
The book had a lot of laugh out loud moments and the characters all had beautiful traits. Corina is a really badass character and is definitely really stubborn. Which was really, really (emphasize on really) annoying at some point. I just wanted to go in the book, slap some sense into her and continue reading but I guess I can't do that. Besides the point. Corina is such a lovely name. I really liked it. Actually, all the names present in the book was worth remembering.
Overall, the book made me have many different emotions but my main one was, CONFUSION! The cover was gorgeous! The character names are epic. The ending was really nice. The book makes use re-think life! I am serious, at some parts I sat down looked at a blank wall and thought, WOW what the hell am I doing wasting my life?
After all these positive remarks, I do not recommend this book because it made me really confused but if you enjoy reading about a girl discovering herself and loves action well this is the book for you!
Love, Srishti!
