Hello everyone!
Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Artsy Reader Girl and the idea is to share our love for books through lists based on various topics that are assigned every week. Check out the link for more information!
This is my first time participating in Top Ten Tuesday and I'm so excited! This week's topic was "Books with ______ on the cover" and I chose books with men on the cover since I have been reading lots of great romance novels lately (although not all of these are romance novels)! I myself am not a big fan at all of men on covers (or real people in general), but I enjoyed these books and I thought I would share them.
I was thinking of doing shirtless men, not books I've read, but just those out there. It is quite a trend in marketing, probably to pay karma to all those covers of women falling out of their dresses that was the normal back in the day.
ReplyDeleteYes I never thought of it as a response to the bodice ripper covers! I've never found them appealing but oh well! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteShirtless men are such a common theme for romance covers! :)

Welcome to TTT! It's such a fun meme. I hope you'll become a regular participant.
ReplyDeleteYour list made me laugh because I actually avoid books that have half-naked people on the covers. Just not my genre. I'm glad you like these, though.
Happy TTT!

Thanks so much for the warm welcome! I'm so excited. I don't like shirtless men on covers either, but I tend to like the actual book so i try to look past the cover.
DeleteWelcome to TTT! I notice that last month my reads were full of shirtless men books 😂 I enjoyed so many of these books—Chloe Liese will forever be a favourite. Great choice of topic!
ReplyDeleteChloe Liese is truly so excellent! Just finished With You Forever and it was truly so good!
DeleteI sometimes think covers with people on them can be a bit boring as they expect the model to do all the work rather than coming up with an intriguing design. I do like the House of Sky and Breath and Born a Crime covers though!
ReplyDeleteYou're absolutely right, they tend to lack artistry in my opinion. HOSAB and Born a Crime definitely stand far from the rest!
DeleteI enjoyed your theme of covers today

Oh, I loved The Hating Game and The Viscount Who Loved Me!
ReplyDeleteBoth amazing reads! I miss more Bridgerton already! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteWelcome to TTT! What a great way to start! I am a big romance reader and I don't mind half naked men on the covers. In fact, you have one of my favorite series with those covers on here! Off-Campus by Elle Kennedy. I love the abs editions. So fun!
ReplyDeleteI love Off-Campus too so much! I just don't love the covers they feel a bit impersonal at times. Maybe they'll grow on me. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteSome great books there. I have just finished Hook, Line and Sinker and loved The Viscount Who Loved Me when I read it last year.
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT!
Have a great week

Great choice for the theme.
ReplyDeleteI do love that Bridgerton cover.
Thanks for stopping by! And I absolutely adore the Bridgerton cover too; it captures the characters' personalities perfectly.
