I just finished reading The Cruel Prince by Holly Black, check out my review here! There are so many "Can't Wait Wednesday" posts about its sequel, The Wicked King, but I'm so excited as well so I thought I'd write a post about the reasons why.
I loved The Cruel Prince so much; I thought it was full of suspense and intriguing characters. The best part was that almost all the characters are morally grey and have a lot to go through before they become "good people". This makes me so curious to see how they will develop and change. The Cruel Prince was also very fast-paced and an easy read so I think I will enjoy the next book as well too!
Also, just look at the incredible cover! I feel like there's some hidden meaning in it and I can't wait to find out more!
Here is the synopsis for The Wicked King (Contains spoilers for The Cruel Prince):

After the jaw-dropping revelation that Oak is the heir to Faerie, Jude must keep her younger brother safe. But he does everything in his power to humiliate and undermine her even as his fascination with her remains undiminished.
When it becomes all too clear that someone close to Jude means to betray her, threatening her own life and the lives of everyone she loves, Jude must uncover the traitor and fight her own complicated feelings for Cardan to maintain control as a mortal in a Faerie world.

DeleteI'm going to have to get on the reserve list for this one at my library. I didn't love the first one but am curious enough to continue.
ReplyDeleteI know a lot of people had issues with it, and I definitely see their point, but I just liked the morally dubious characters most of all!
DeleteI have yet to read a Holly Black novel, but I have heard amazing things. I hope that you enjoy this one when you get the opportunity to read it. It does sound like it is going to be an interesting sequel. :)
