Spoilers for ACOTAR series ahead.

Hello everyone! I have come to share my excitement about what is quite possibly my most anticipated book of all time. Seriously. The ACOTAR fans (me included) have been waiting for this book since 2018, which is when A Court of Frost and Starlight came out. Arguably, we have been waiting for this book since 2017 when A Court of Wings and Ruin came out and we saw Nesta defend Cassian with her body, ready to go down with him. Actually, realistically speaking, the whole ACOTAR fandom, haters of Nesta and Feyre alike, have been anticipating this book since we first saw Nesta and Cassian interact in A Court of Mist and Fury.

This book is set for a huge release, and I read somewhere (the source slips my mind) that Bloomsbury has a 1 million copies first print of A Court of Silver Flames, which is HUGE. I mean, no wonder, I guess, with how much the fans have been asking and inquiring SJM about ACOSF for years now. The book already has 2,125 ratings and 652 reviews on Goodreads without even having been released (as of the time of writing this post).

However, with such a hugely anticipated book comes a lot of pressure. In the years since ACOFAS came out, fans have had a LONG time to stew and theorize and write their fanfics and crackpot theories and rants. Nesta stans want to see Nesta vindicated. Feyre/Feysand stans want to see Nesta grovel. If you delve into the Tumblr blogs writing about the dynamics between Nesta and many other characters, it really feels like this is set to be the most controversial ACOTAR book yet. I feel like it will either be universally loved or universally hated. I wonder if SJM has seen how much tension and discourse this book has prompted on various social media platforms. Sarah J Maas has a very difficult job to do, attempting to satisfy all the fans.

I would like to think that most people, like me, are neither Nesta or Feyre haters. Clearly, I would love for them to resolve their conflicts, which I think at this point definitely are not as simple as a one-sided "evil sister" narrative. Seeing Nesta and Feyre (and Rhysand too, while we're at it) finally reconcile and understand each other is a hugely anticipated moment for me.

A lot of us are also here for Nesta and Cassian's relationship, which has been bubbling quietly ever since their first encounter. Nesta and Cassian are clearly in no place to be together at the end of ACOFAS, but I'm so excited to see how that will change. Angst is definitely the most key part of a good love story for me, so please, Sarah, bring on the angst and yearning and stolen glances. Surely we deserve it after such a looooooong wait?

With that being said, I'd love to know your thoughts about ACOSF. Are you excited? Is this your most anticipated book of the year too? What do you think of the teasers from Sarah so far? I'm simply counting down the days until February 16th (although I might have to delay my reading because of exams *cries*).

Thanks,

Yomna

    1. I absolutely recommend it, but you have to know the series is quite controversial nowadays. Still, I think it's worth it and I love the books for what they are.

    1. Thank you so much! Honestly, I've always loved her books despite how polarizing they've become nowadays. And for this one in particular, I have been waiting a couple years now, so it's super exciting! I totally recommend trying one of her series one of these days, I think she's very good at writing high fantasy. Thanks for stopping by!

  5. I'm super excited for this one! I'm currently re-reading the ACOTAR series in preparation and while I'm not Nesta's biggest fan, I love SJM and I'm excited to see where she takes the characters. Hope it'll live up to our expectations :)

    1. Honestly, I'm really dying to have this book. I re-read the series in late 2020, and I'm not sure if I'm going to again before ACOSF, but I'm definitely going to re-read all the Nesta/Cassian moments. I can't wait to see both Nesta's and Cassian's stories and I hope SJM does them justice. I can't believe it's finally happening! Thanks for stopping by!
